NSW to fund 500 nurse, midwife scholarships
The New South Wales Government is marking International Nurses Day with the announcement of almost 500 scholarships for registered nurses and midwives.
Under the plan, nurses will be given up to $8,000 to help them with postgraduate studies.
Health Minister Reba Meagher says building a highly-skilled nursing workforce is a vital component of the state’s health system.
She says the careers of many nurses will be improved by the scholarships.
The scholarships are expected to cost the Government about $2 million.
