Mental health group staging forum
New
A forum on mental health is underway in Hobart today.
The Tasmanian Mental Health Consumer Network, which promotes better services and a better understanding of mental health, has convened the forum.
A number of speakers will give presentations and take questions on advocacy and various mental health consumer matters.
A strategic plan and vision for the next three years will also be outlined.
The network’s coordinator Gwyn Jones says today’s forum is a first for the new advocacy group, and there are hopes of expanding the gatherings.
“We’ll evaluate this forum and subject to a favourable evaluation, we’d like to run a series of three forums in each of the three regions of the state in the next financial year,” Ms Jones said.
“So this is a learning experience for us and we hope it goes well,” she said.
